A tribute to the Swinging Bamako exhibition which spoke to us of a distant time, that of the Cold War and independence in Africa, that of the early days of World Music, when Africa was a land of mixing of cultures and ideas.

With "Éclats" (Fragments), the new Séroux exhibition at Fred Lanzenberg in Brussels, sanguine inks and watercolors on paper explore the intimate realms of trembling, pleasure, cries, ecstasy, and the terror of perdition through paroxysmal expressions.
Loss of control, disorientation, the vertigo of the abyss, and orgasm as a site of self-discovery are all at play when everything shatters, opening the door to what transcends understanding.
Shattering
Through the use of inks on paper, chance intervenes, jostling for position and disrupting the image. And through the series, through arrangements of drawings, the exhibition addresses the impossibility of expressing anything definitively, given the multifaceted and elusive nature of life's experience. Here, allowing oneself to be overcome by turmoil means having the desire to confront within ourselves what leaves something to be desired. Indefinitely.
